Recruiting with PSVA
What is included in our PSVA recruiting package?
In addition to receiving advanced coaching, players will have access to essential recruiting tools like HUDL, UniversityAthlete, and Fieldlevel. Our athletes will receive tailored instructions according to their graduating class (‘25, ‘26, ‘27, ‘28) and homework assignments to help them throughout their recruiting process. Team coaches and our recruiting director will always be available to help athletes on an individual basis to help with their more specific, personal goals. Recruiting coordinator will provide upperclassmen with individual tournament highlights and mid/end of season highlights to use as promotion to college level by request.
Our primary goal and mission as a club is to work for our kids. We want our kids to thrive during and after their time with PSVA, which is why we take the recruiting process very seriously. If your child wants to play at the next level, we will work to give them that opportunity.
Is the recruiting package worth it?
Within our first three years, we successfully committed 20 of our athletes to play in college. We are the first club in middle Georgia to ever commit more than one athlete per graduating class to play in college, let alone play outside of Georgia. We want all of our kids that want to play at the next level to have the opportunity to do so, which is why we work so hard with each one of our athletes to help them accomplish their goals. Frequently Asked Questions
How many athletes will you have per team?
Each team will have 9 to 12 athletes, which is small enough to ensure our players will consistently receive excellent coaching but the team will have depth in case of injury or illness.
How many teams will you have per age group?
The number of teams for each age group will be dependent on how many athletes try out and the skill level of those athletes. We want our teams to be successful and have a great club experience, which is why we will make decisions solely on what will be best for athletes and teams collectively.
How much does it cost to play for PSVA Houston?
The cost to play for PSVA Houston is determined based on your athlete’s age and your team’s competition level. As athletes get older, there will be more costs associated with playing, such as our recruiting package. Additionally, our national teams will cost more than our regional teams, which will cost more than our local teams. We are still working on our prices for each team, but we will make an announcement once prices are finalized.
When is the club season?
For our national and regional teams, the club season will start in December and finish at the end of April. For our local teams, the club season will start late January and finish in April. At the end of our regular club season, we will have tryouts for athletes and teams that want to travel to AAU Nationals (Orlando, FL) in mid to late June.
What are the differences between national, regional, and local teams?
National teams are designed for athletes that want the highest levels of training and competition. These are athletes that want to play in college and are ready to work towards that goal. Our national teams will have a rigorous practice schedule, with two practices and a strength and agility session per week as well as a tournament schedule that challenges our players. Finally, our national teams 15U and older will have access to resources like HUDL, UniversityAthlete, and FieldLevel to help them develop game highlights and create a recruiting profile.
Regional teams are for athletes that aren’t quite ready to compete at the national level yet, whether that is because of skill level or the travel schedule. Our regional teams will practice twice a week and still receive advanced coaching to help them grow and succeed during the club season. Regional teams will have several tournaments, mostly competitive two day tournaments, but all of which will be in Georgia.
Finally, our local teams are for athletes and families that want to play volleyball and learn more about the sport, but with less of a commitment. Local teams will practice once a week and will have a few one day tournaments either in Warner Robins, Georgia or Valdosta, Georgia.
What options are available if my child does not make a team or I am not ready to have them participate in club volleyball yet?
If your child doesn’t make a team he or she wants or you aren’t ready to start club volleyball, we offer year round training for all ages and skill levels. We also offer private lessons, so there are many different ways to stay involved and improve your game!
